The head of sustainability and corporate social responsibility at the operator, Maria Guggenberger, has proclaimed the success of the operator’s introduced loss limit amid the Covid-19 pandemic. She stated that helping customers make active decisions through the mandatory loss limit at casinos has been crucial. Despite initial concerns, ATG has not seen an increase in problem gambling, as evidenced by fewer calls to gambling addiction helplines. It remains uncertain whether this decrease is due to the government’s weekly deposit cap, players using unlicensed sites, or other factors. The reasons behind the decline can only be speculated upon, including the possibility of decreasing channeling, a decline in overall gambling, or the effectiveness of temporary gambling responsibility measures.
