Strategic Acquisition: Betsson Successfully Acquires GiG’s B2C Assets

1 Min Read

Betsson Group has finalized its acquisition of Zecure Gaming Limited, the B2C subsidiary of Gaming Innovation Group (GiG).

Under the agreement, Betsson takes ownership of the assets, business activities, operations, front-end and middleware technology, and gaming licenses attributable to Zecure’s B2C activities.

GiG in February agreed to sell its B2C assets, including the Rizk, Guts, Kaboo, and Thrills brands, to Betsson in a deal worth €33.0m (£28.8m/$35.9m).

Betsson states that the transaction strengthens its presence in key strategic markets and opens further opportunities with new brands in Croatia and Spain.

The acquisition is expected to increase scale in Betsson’s business, allow realization of synergies, and be both revenue- and earnings-accretive from the second quarter of 2020.

A number of anti-trust regulatory bodies have given their approval for the acquisition deal to go ahead.
