1 Min Read

Sega Sammy’s acquisition of Rovio, known for Angry Birds, is worth $706.0m and was announced in April. The acquisition process began in May with the initial deadline set for 3 July. However, Sega Sammy has extended the deadline to August due to certain conditions that have not yet been fulfilled. Regulatory approvals from competition and regulatory authorities are still in progress, although some approvals, such as from the United States’ competition authority, have already been granted.

Sega Sammy plans to purchase all outstanding shares and options of Rovio at a rate of €9.25 per share and €1.48 per option. The company intends to complete the acquisition in Q2 2024, despite potential future extensions.
