SBC Advisory, experts in global strategy and regulation for the gambling industry, views the Brazilian iGaming market as the most attractive opportunity for companies and investors.
Anton Kaszubowski, SBC Advisory Founder & Managing Director, recently chaired a discussion on M&A opportunities in this market and sees significant potential for organizations investing in the regulated market.
“Brazil is a sports-mad, fun-loving country with a history of enjoying gaming industry services,” says Kaszubowski. “The formal regulation of the sector gives companies the confidence to invest in what could easily become one of the biggest iGaming markets on the planet. The chance to enter a market this large at its inception is rare and, in my opinion, this is the biggest opportunity in the past 10 years.”
SBC Advisory has maintained a presence in the region for several years, anticipating the opening of the Brazilian market. However, international firms are advised to leverage local knowledge for successful entry.
Kaszubowski adds, “One of the unique aspects of Brazilian culture is the emphasis on building relationships before doing deals. Therefore, working with those who understand the market will be crucial for success. There are many opportunities for joint ventures and M&A for ambitious companies, but making the right connections is essential.”
Earlier this year, Kaszubowski and fellow SBC Advisory Founder & Chairman Rasmus Sojmark met with Rio de Janeiro Governor Cláudio Castro to discuss the potential for online gaming in the country. This meeting occurred during the inaugural SBC Summit Rio in March, which was so successful that it will triple in size for its 2025 edition.
Sojmark states, “The expansion of SBC Summit Rio next year underscores our heavy investment in Brazil, recognizing the opportunities from formally regulating sports betting and iGaming in a country that embraces sports and entertainment.”
Quirino Mancini, Founder & Business Development Director at SBC Advisory, adds, “Every jurisdiction has its legal quirks, and Brazil’s legal system is not for the faint-hearted. While there are fantastic deals to be made, it’s important to have experts on the ground to minimize potential liabilities.”
