Intralot extends strategic contract with Morocco’s MDJS until 2025

1 Min Read

The Intralot and MDJS partnership has been extended until December 2025. Intralot will continue to operate MDJS’ lottery as well as provide sports betting and other games of chance. This extension comes after Intralot agreed to reduce the term of their previous deal in 2022, which was then extended for an additional year. The bond obligations for Intralot in 2024 are at risk due to a decrease in consolidated turnover and the expiration of their Malta license.

Despite these challenges, Intralot has seen positive results in their Q3 earnings, with a return to net profit. The gross gaming revenue has increased by 2.2% year-on-year. However, the company’s consolidated turnover has decreased by €21.7m, primarily due to the loss of revenue from their expired Malta license. Intralot has taken measures to address their debt obligations by issuing €135m in new shares.

In addition to the challenges, Intralot has also experienced growth in several regions, including Turkey, Croatia, Taiwan, and the US. This has contributed to an increase in revenue and EBITDA for the first nine months of the year.
