PointsBet’s online sportsbook is now active in the state of Louisiana after receiving approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. This launch is part of the partnership between PointsBet and PNG, which has expanded to include Pennsylvania and Mississippi. Louisiana is the twelfth state where PointsBet offers online sports betting, alongside New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, and Kansas.

“The PointsBet team is pleased to announce that we are now live in Louisiana, making it our twelfth state for online operations,” said Johnny Aitken, PointsBet US CEO. “Louisiana has a passionate sports community dedicated to their local teams such as the New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans, and notable college football programs. We are excited to bring our fast and premium sports betting products to the sports fans of Louisiana.”

With the NFL and college football seasons underway, the timing of the launch allows PointsBet to showcase its live betting capabilities to Louisiana sports fans. Please note that PointsBet recently reported a 42.6% year-on-year increase in losses for the first half of its 2023 financial year, leading to a decline in the company’s share price.
