May sees Arizona sports betting handle soar to $461.5m

The monthly handle in the US state for sports betting, including online, retail, and limited event wagering, decreased by 10.0% from $512.9m in April. It is also significantly lower than the record high of $691.0m set in March.

Out of the total handle, $456.7m was bet online, while only $4.6m was spent on wagering at retail sportsbooks in Arizona.

In terms of player winnings, $405.3m was won during the month, resulting in a revenue of $55.2m. This is a substantial increase of 48.4% compared to the previous month’s revenue of $37.2m in April.

After taking into account $13.8m in free bets and promotional credits, the taxable revenue for the month reached $41.4m. This represents a significant improvement of 151.5% when compared to the previous month’s revenue of $16.5m.
