Kansas sports betting sees impressive $239 million handle in January

Sports betting in Kansas saw a monthly handle increase of 16.3% compared to January 2023, with online betting accounting for $228.6m of all bets placed.

Revenue for January was 138.3% higher than the same month last year, with online sports betting revenue amounting to $14.3m. The leading online market players were Kansas Star and FanDuel, generating $6.1m in revenue.

On the retail side, Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway emerged as the top performer with revenue reaching $422,845 from $8.9m in wagers, followed by Kansas Star and FanDuel with $164,669 from $1.5m.

Year-to-date wagers in Kansas have reached $1.40bn, with online betting accounting for the majority of the handle at $1.34bn. Total tax for the fiscal year to date stood at $7.7m.
