The new sportsbook in Delaware, powered by Rush Street Interactive (RSI) and BetRivers, is now fully live after a successful soft launch on 27 December. Players can enjoy a wide range of wagering options for professional and collegiate leagues, games, and players. Betting options include spreads, moneylines, player props, futures, and same game parlays. The state’s existing online casinos operated by Delaware Park, Bally’s Dover Casino, and Harrington Raceway & Casino have also been updated.
RSI secured the contract to power Delaware’s igaming offering in August of last year. Other interested parties pulled out, leaving RSI as the sole bidder. RSI will provide igaming for an initial term of five years, with possible extensions. The BetRivers multi-state app and website offer access to Delaware Park and Harrington Casino & Raceway sites, while Bally’s Dover Casino has its own standalone app and website.
The Delaware Lottery director, Helene Keeley, expressed excitement about partnering with RSI and highlighted their successful track record in other jurisdictions, such as New Jersey and Pennsylvania. RSI’s commitment to responsible gaming, quality products, gaming content, and customer service were key factors in the partnership. Richard Schwartz, CEO of RSI, also emphasized the convenience and innovation of the online entertainment experience offered to Delaware customers.
In November, Delaware experienced mixed results. The Delaware Lottery reported a year-on-year rise in igaming revenue but a decline in revenue from sports betting. In November 2023, total igaming revenue in Delaware reached $1.1 million, a 13.0% increase compared to November 2022. On the other hand, players spent $32.1 million on igaming in November, a 24.8% decrease from 2022. In terms of sports betting, revenue in November was $576,800, significantly lower than November 2022’s $1.5 million and October 2023’s $2.6 million.
