Betfred’s physical sportsbook is now live as of today (18 November).

DraftKings plans to release its sportsbook app on 23 November.

Both operators successfully completed the required early access testing phase for sports-betting. The test period aimed to ensure the seamless functioning of the operators’ platforms and to identify any potential issues or glitches. Now that the test period has concluded, the operators are ready to offer their sports-betting services to the public.

The test period was a measure implemented by the Maryland State Lottery & Gaming Control Agency to assess the viability and efficacy of sports-betting activities. This initiative aimed to evaluate the potential impact of sports-betting on the local economy and determine the feasibility of integrating it into the existing gambling infrastructure. Throughout the test period, various aspects such as revenue generation, betting trends, and customer involvement were closely monitored and analyzed. The findings obtained during this period were used to make informed decisions and formulate appropriate regulations for the future implementation of sports-betting in Maryland.
