Poland introduces education program to tackle underage gambling and promote social responsibility

The ‘Gambling? Don’t Get Involved!’ campaign focuses on the negative effects of the industry, such as addiction, financial problems, and social isolation. It is targeted at children in grade seven (aged between 12 and 13) and grade eight (aged between 13 and 14), as well as parents and teachers, with the aim of educating young people about the dangers of participating in gambling.

During the previous two phases of the campaign, approximately 110,000 parents and students participated in the programme, highlighting the importance of addressing this issue. Illegal gambling not only affects addicts but also their families and friends. With our programme, we aim to raise awareness about the harmful consequences of gambling and warn against its negative impact.

The relaunch of the campaign has gained the support of Poland’s Minister of Education and Science. According to a report from H2 Gambling Capital, Poland’s offshore gambling market share has been reduced due to the growth of its regulated gaming sector. The report, which was commissioned by Totalizator Sportowy, also suggests that further reduction of the offshore market and increase in regulated revenue can be achieved through implementing a gross revenue-based tax and lifting the ban on the state lottery operator promoting its online casino offering.
