Pagcor is committed to working with the council to combat illegal offshore gaming activities in the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, demonstrating our dedication to social responsibility. At the launch of the council, Jessa Fernandez, Pagcor’s assistant vice-president for offshore gaming licensing, announced that stricter sanctions will be imposed on illegal activities. This includes penalties for licensed offshore operators and accredited service providers who allow others to use their licenses or accreditation. These penalties could result in the cancellation of licenses. Currently, there are four accredited service providers and one licensed offshore gaming operator within the Clark Freeport Zone.
Furthermore, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) board has approved a plan to cease the processing of new lease or sub-lease applications from offshore gaming operators. CDC president and CEO Agnes Devanadera confirmed this decision, emphasizing the importance of cracking down on unlicensed activities in the region. The CDC will no longer approve the operation of any incoming overseas gaming, even if they possess a license from Pagcor.
In recent weeks, Pagcor has taken regulatory action against several operators. Last month, the accreditation of CGC Technologies, a customer relations provider for a Philippine offshore gaming operation (POGO), was canceled due to their involvement in illegal activities. Additionally, Sun Valley Clark had their license revoked as their facilities were being used for illegal activities. Pagcor conducted a search and rescue operation at the Sun Valley property, uncovering serious crimes such as cryptocurrency investment scams, illegal detention, and human trafficking. Of the six buildings occupied by CGC, two were licensed by Pagcor. Earlier this month, Pagcor issued a warning to consumers about gambling on the illegal website Starspangled200.org, which redirects to Globeinternational.info, an illegal gambling site operating in the Philippines.
