The Malta-headquartered B2B sports betting service provider, which operates in more than 30 countries, has recently signed up to the UN Global Compact initiative. This move serves as a testament to the company’s commitment to responsible business practices in the social betting and gaming sector. The UN Global Compact calls upon businesses to align their operations and strategies with 10 universally accepted principles in areas such as human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. It also encourages businesses to support the UN goals and issues addressed in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Meridian Gaming Group’s chief executive, Zoran Milosevic, expressed his enthusiasm for joining the UN Global Compact and emphasized the company’s dedication to responsible business practices and sustainable growth. This commitment signifies a significant step in their continuous effort to make a positive impact on the industry and provide added value to communities and the environment.
Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative worldwide. It boasts over 15,000 companies and 3,800 non-business signatories across more than 160 countries, including 69 local networks. Notable organizations like the European Casino Association (ECA) and Betsson have also become signatories to this initiative.
