The ITIA and ETF have partnered to launch customized anti-corruption education and prevention programs in Egypt. This collaboration was agreed upon during a recent tournament in Cairo, where education sessions were conducted for players, coaches, parents, and officials. The sessions focused on providing information about the Tennis Anti-Corruption Programme (TACP) and Tennis Anti-Doping Programme (TADP) rules. This pioneering initiative, which involves the ITIA teaming up with a national federation and concentrating on a specific country or region, aims to expand its scope by involving other sports and regulatory bodies in Egypt. “In light of the sanctions imposed on several Egyptian tennis players and the increase in international players engaging in match-fixing during events hosted in Egypt, we saw the need for this program,” stated Jonny Gray, the CEO of ITIA. “Working closely with the Egyptian Tennis Federation, we have designed this program to ensure that all players are well-informed about the regulations in place to safeguard the sport’s integrity,” he further added. ETF Vice President Hassan El Aroussy emphasized the significance of Egyptian tennis taking integrity concerns seriously and using past issues as learning opportunities for the future. The aim is to foster a strong partnership with colleagues from ITIA.
