Greentube has developed a tool to address problem gambling by identifying it in real-time and automatically interacting with players showing harmful behavior. The tool includes a built-in mentor back-office system that tracks specific metrics to determine if a player is spending beyond their means.
This solution flags activities such as customer deposits during gambling sessions, failed deposits, and cancelling withdrawals, allowing Greentube to notify its operator partners of potential problem gambling. Additionally, the tool enables direct communication with players through customized text messages, informing them of any changes in their play or overspending.
Admiral Casino UK, a subsidiary of Novomatic, became the first client of Greentube to implement the solution. Richard Poole, Greentube’s UK B2C director, stated that this integration adds an extra layer of protection for UK players, enabling them to assess their activity and compare it to that of the wider Admiral Casino player base.
Michael Auer, director of Neccton, the company behind the specialist RG system, emphasized the importance of responsible gaming and stated that players who gamble responsibly tend to be more loyal, resulting in longer customer lifetime. He also mentioned that the integration of mentor with player records will enhance the tool’s ability to provide operators with a comprehensive view of games and player behavior.
In the first half of 2020, Greentube’s parent company, Novomatic, experienced a decrease in revenue and reported a loss of €108.1m. The decline was largely attributed to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the company’s predominantly land-based operations. The B2B gaming technology segment and B2C gaming operations recorded substantial drops in revenue during this period.
