From 2021 to 2024, GamCare has set four key strategic ambitions to focus on. These include:

- Ensuring GamCare’s work is trusted, valued, and effective
- Providing universal access to effective tools and support
- Achieving universal access to evidence-led and integrated treatment
GamCare aims to increase awareness of gambling harms and help people seek support. They will also identify individuals in need of help and train more people to deliver support and treatment. Additionally, the charity will work on improving its own processes and data sharing to support sector learning, ensure quality and performance, and build partnerships.
To improve access to tools and support, GamCare plans to enhance their processes. They will also collaborate with individuals who have experienced gambling harm to enhance their services.
Furthermore, GamCare is determined to achieve universal access to evidence-led and integrated treatment for gambling-related harm. They will expand treatment services across Britain, integrate treatment pathways for a seamless experience, and develop innovative treatments.
GamCare’s CEO, Anna Hemmings, expressed their commitment to raise awareness of gambling harms and expand their services to make positive changes. Over the past three years, GamCare has supported over 100,000 individuals through their helpline, chat rooms, and treatment services. They have also provided training to professionals and delivered treatment in various locations.
As part of their strategy, GamCare plans to invest more and expand their services to adapt to changing regulations. They will also collaborate with stakeholders interested in reducing gambling harms in Britain.
Last month, GamCare released data indicating that 71% of under-18s who contacted their National Gambling Helpline did so because of their own gambling activities. Additionally, 20% had concerns for family or friends, and 8.5% were considered “at risk” of irresponsible gambling.
