Adferiad Recovery, in partnership with residential rehabilitation centre Gordon Moody, offers rehabilitation programs for adults with gambling disorder and associated issues such as alcohol or substance abuse. This collaborative framework allows individuals to progress through their rehabilitation at their own pace with the support and involvement of friends and family. The programs include medically supervised detoxification and acute mental health support.
Anna Hargrave, the chief commissioning officer at GambleAware, expressed her satisfaction with Adferiad Recovery and Gordon Moody’s proposal, which identified clear opportunities for collaboration. She believes that this grant awarded to the two experienced organizations is a significant step in increasing the capacity and effectiveness of the National Gambling Treatment Service, ensuring that more people can receive the assistance they need.
This project is the latest initiative by GambleAware to address the issue of gambling-related harm. In December, the charity granted £300,000 to support research on the experiences of gambling harms among minority communities. Additionally, GambleAware recommissioned Scottish charity Fast Forward in November and provided a £250,000 grant for research on gambling harms experienced by women.
