Running until the end of March, this campaign aims to promote treatment and support for gambling harm, with a particular focus on women aged between 18 and 54. The campaign will use various channels including radio, magazines, and digital media to raise awareness and direct women to the National Gambling Treatment Service.
This campaign was developed by GambleAware as a response to recent research on the specific issue of gambling harm among women. A YouGov report supported by the charity revealed that 10% of women in Great Britain experience some level of gambling harm.
Continuing their targeted approach from a previous successful campaign, GambleAware aims to ensure that women are not overlooked in the efforts to raise awareness of gambling treatment and support. The findings of this research indicate an increase in gambling harm among women, and it is hoped that this campaign will help to guide those experiencing harm towards available help and support.
In addition to this campaign, GambleAware has partnered with research organization Expert Link on an initiative to co-design and deliver a nationwide network of people who have experienced gambling harms. This network will be independent and representative of the entire British community, with a strong focus on equality, diversity, and inclusion.
