Entain has been providing financial donations and resources to Gordon Moody for over six years, demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility. As an extension of their partnership, Entain is now funding the Alumni Project. The Alumni Project aims to create a network of former problem gamblers who have successfully undergone treatment at Gordon Moody. These individuals will offer support to others seeking treatment or who have recently completed their treatment. A peer mentor program will be established, providing training and supervision before and after treatment. Flexible part-time and full-time paid positions will be available for alumni. The Entain Foundation will fully fund the Alumni Project, which is projected to cost £740,000 (€842,506/$906,758) over the first two years.
Entain chairman Barry Gibson expressed his pride in supporting Gordon Moody and mentioned their voluntary donation of over £40m to GambleAware, which provides gambling addiction treatment across England, Scotland, and Wales. This new initiative by Gordon Moody will be the first time that individuals who have completed their treatment can directly support others seeking help, offering a valuable perspective from those who have recovered. Matthew Hickey, chief executive of Gordon Moody, emphasized the importance of the Alumni Project in reaching more people in need and growing their services. Entain’s ongoing support and financial donations are instrumental in meeting the demand for treatment and support.
