Decrease in Adverse Gambling Revenue by Kindred in Q2 Reflects Commitment to Social Responsibility

Kindred’s share of revenue from problem gambling in Q1 2023 was initially reported as 3.0%, but it was later corrected to 3.3%. This means that the revenue remained steady compared to Q1 2022, instead of decreasing by 0.3% as previously stated. The error in calculation was due to a data handling issue related to reporting on self-excluded customers. Kindred has resolved this problem.

The improvement effect after interventions increased to 86.4% in Q2, compared to 83.0% in Q1. Kindred’s quarterly reporting of harmful gambling revenue shares aligns with its commitment to achieving zero revenue from problem gambling. Nils Andén, interim CEO of Kindred Group, emphasizes that this journey to zero will take time and is crucial for fostering a sustainable gambling industry. Kindred, as a member of the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), has contributed to the total of 45.5 million safer gambling messages sent by EGBA members in 2022.

Last week, Kindred, Svenska Spel, and ATG released their responsible gambling figures for the Swedish market in the first half of 2023. During this period, Kindred contacted 0.5% of its Swedish customers regarding potentially harmful gambling behaviors.
