Collaboration of Charities to Address Gambling-related Harm Amongst British Youth

1 Min Read

The collaboration between YGAM and StreetGames aims to provide bespoke training sessions to raise awareness and educate future generations about the risks of gambling.

Training will be offered through the StreetGames and YSF networks, with other organizations working with the charities also gaining access to YGAM’s gambling resources for youth.

Working with sports clubs and groups is a natural progression for YGAM, aligning with their values and mission to safeguard children and provide a healthy start in life.

Using sport as a driver for conversations about safeguarding young people can effectively engage trusted community organizations.

The training will help increase awareness of the potential issues caused by gaming and gambling and provide strategies to prevent harm.

To further protect young people from gambling-related harm, YGAM has introduced various tools and resources, including a new training program for healthcare professionals and a partnership with research teams to educate parents about the risks of loot boxes in video games.

Additionally, YGAM and GamCare have accelerated the digital transformation of their educational resources to provide continued support during the Covid-19 pandemic.
