ASA prohibits advertisement of socially irresponsible Rank and Coral campaigns

The Rank advertisement in the Lucky Night mobile casino game promoted the Wolf Gold casino game with promises of solving financial problems and easy earnings.

The ASA upheld the complaint, stating that the ad implied consistent income and financial security, as well as the ability to afford expensive items through gambling.

Rank claimed that the ad was purchased through WakeApp, a third-party organization, and terminated their relationship following the complaint.

The ASA concluded that the ad violated several rules of the CAP Code.

The Coral ad on television during March 2022 depicted a horse racing event and was found to promote socially irresponsible gambling behavior.

The ad featured Coral branding throughout, including on the track, in the crowd, and on the horses’ saddle cloths.

The ad also used audio-visual effects that simulated horse racing and carried a significant risk of triggering “highs” associated with previous successful bets or gambling.

The ASA determined that the ad should not be aired again.
