Sant will leave the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) to pursue a new role in the private sector, but she will remain in office until February 2022. However, the MGA announced that Sant will no longer be involved in regulatory, inspection, or enforcement duties, nor will she be part of any internal committees.
Sant’s journey with the MGA began in September 2014 when she joined as an intern in the legal department. Over time, she progressed and held various positions including legal advisor, senior legal counsel, head of policy and international affairs, and eventually general counsel in February 2021.
As general counsel, Sant served on the MGA’s supervisory council, commercial communications committee, fit and proper committee, and compliance and enforcement committee. Her exceptional work and valuable contributions have been recognized by the MGA, especially for her involvement in the development of the regulatory framework published in 2018.
The MGA expresses its gratitude to Yanica Sant for her dedicated work during the past seven-and-a-half years and her significant contributions to all levels of the Authority.
