The Levy family – John, Benjie, Aubrey, and Noah – will be leaving Penn Interactive in the coming weeks as part of a planned leadership transition. John Levy will be stepping down in mid-February, followed by Benjie, Aubrey, and Noah in April.
Penn Entertainment CEO and president Jay Snowden stated that this transition plan coincides with the completion of the migration to their proprietary technology platform, the successful performance of TheScore’s media and betting business, and the strong start of ESPN Bet.
The Levys, known as successful entrepreneurs and pioneers in the sports media and gaming industry, have contributed significantly to the development of a talented team within Penn Interactive. With this experienced team in place, Penn Entertainment is confident in a seamless transition and their continued growth as a leader in online gaming and sports media.
In addition, Penn Interactive is currently finalizing its search for a new head of interactive, with an update expected soon.
Benjie Levy has been serving as the head of Penn Interactive since October of 2021 after Penn acquired Score Media and Gaming (TheScore) and integrated it into their business. John Levy assumed the role of executive chairman of TheScore. Notable achievements since the acquisition include the launch of TheScore Bet in Ontario and the successful migration to a proprietary technology stack. The most significant milestone is arguably the launch of ESPN Bet in November of last year, resulting from a partnership between Penn and Disney-owned ESPN.
Benjie Levy expressed his pride in the team and their accomplishments at Penn, highlighting their focus on creating innovative technology and products. John Levy emphasized the team’s commitment to providing the best possible fan experience, which has led to the success of TheScore and TheScore Bet in Ontario as well as ESPN Bet in the US.
Both Benjie and John Levy expressed their confidence in the team’s ability to continue building on the foundation they established at TheScore.
