Lord Coe, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in the 1500m, will not be involved in any specific bids or country-level operations, including Sazka Group’s UK National Lottery bid.
Coe, who played a key role in London’s successful bid to host the 2012 Olympics, brings valuable expertise to Sazka as the company aims to raise funds for good causes in all the markets it serves. He currently serves as the president of World Athletics and previously held the position of Conservative Member of Parliament.
Sazka was the first company to announce its bid for the tender launched by the Gambling Commission in August 2020. The winning bid will be announced in February 2022 after the commission extended the bidding process.
