New CEO Maria Wennerberg Sedigh appointed by Swedish trade association

Wennerberg Sedigh will replace Jenny Nilzon in March as the new leader of SPER. Nilzon had been in the position for five years.

Wennerberg Sedigh has been a senior adviser at SPER for the past four years and has extensive experience in gaming regulation, working for both the Lottery Inspectorate and the Ministry of Finance. She was also involved in the Gaming License Inquiry, which led to the Swedish Gambling Act and a new licensed framework.

Wennerberg Sedigh expressed excitement about her new role and her commitment to developing SPER’s work in self-regulation, consumer protection, and industry confidence.

Before SPER’s annual meeting at the end of March, Wennerberg Sedigh will assume her position. SPER’s members include Betsson, IGT, Svenska Spel, and Yggdrasil.

Chairman of SPER and CEO of Svenska Spel, Patrik Hofbauer, expressed his satisfaction with Wennerberg Sedigh’s appointment and emphasized her extensive knowledge of the industry.
