In his new role, Ryan Collinge will support GiG’s strategic commercial initiatives. He will focus on the Platform and Sportsbook arm, formed when GiG splits its business. Prior to joining GiG, Collinge spent over seven years as group director at Blueprint Gaming and was previously executive sales director at Playnation. During his earlier career, Collinge worked at Inspired in various roles including gaming product and entertainment manager and national account manager.
GiG plans to split its business between platform and sportsbook in the coming months. Collinge expressed excitement about joining GiG at this time, citing the enormous potential of the business and being impressed with GiG’s new X-Suite of products and future plans.
Richard Carter, CEO for Platform and Sportsbook at GiG, welcomed Collinge’s appointment, stating that it will strengthen the division ahead of the planned split. Carter believes Collinge’s exceptional reputation, strong background in igaming, and strategic approach will be invaluable during GiG’s rapid period of growth and help seize future opportunities.
GiG chose to pursue a split after conducting a strategic review in February last year. The split involves separating the GiG Media affiliate arm from the Platform & Sportsbook divisions. The Media business comprises GiG’s affiliate lead generation services, while Platform and Sportsbook includes technical igaming platforms, front-end development, and other managed services.
GiG has been expanding its team with recent hires such as Andrew Cochrane as Chief Business Officer for the division and Matthew Saxon as Chief Technology Officer. Carter, named Platform and Sportsbook CEO in August 2023, believes these additions, along with Collinge, will help GiG significantly scale revenue and attract accomplished new partners.
