Flutter-owned Sisal Appoints Sian Carson as Chief People Officer

In her new role, Carson will lead Sisal’s human resources and organizational design division to support the company’s expansion in Italy and abroad.

The CEO of Sisal, Francesco Durante, expressed his happiness about Sian joining the leadership team and believes that her support will strengthen the company’s ability to drive growth.

Prior to joining Sisal, Carson worked in HR functions at the Flutter group level, including talent director at Flutter International and chief people officer, group functions at Flutter.

During her time at Flutter, Carson focused on defining the talent development strategy and promoting an inclusive culture.

Carson has also held various HR roles at Sisal’s owned subsidiaries, starting with Sportsbet in 2015 and moving on to Paddy Power in July 2019.

Flutter acquired Sisal from CVC Capital Partners Fund VI for €1.91bn (£1.67bn/$2.03bn) in December 2021, as part of their strategy to build leadership positions in regulated markets globally.

Sisal operates the Italian national lottery and holds leading positions in several gaming verticals nationally.

With the merger finalized in August 2022, Flutter now holds approximately 20% of the market share when considering its Betfair and PokerStars brands.
