Simon is taking over the role of providing strategic technology leadership and services at CDI, replacing Ben Murr who was promoted to president of TwinSpires and online gaming in January. Simon has been with CDI since 2011, starting as the vice-president of operations for its United Tote division. He was later promoted to president of United Tote, a role he has held for the past 10 years. As the president of United Tote, Simon was responsible for managing over 200 employees and generating more than $25.0m in global revenue. Before joining CDI, Simon worked at Clariant and General Electric Consumer and Industrial. CDI chief executive Bill Carstanjen commends Simon for his successful modernization of United Tote and expects him to bring further innovation and growth to the company as the chief technology officer. The appointment is effective immediately and CDI will begin the search for a replacement for the role of president of United Tote.
