Per Widerström has been appointed as the new CEO of 888, taking over from Lord Mendelsohn. Prior to this role, Widerström served as the CEO of Fortuna Entertainment Group and held executive positions in various operators such as Bwin.party and Gala Coral Interactive.

Widerström expressed his excitement and honor in leading 888, a company known for its iconic brands like 888, William Hill, and Mr Green. He is looking forward to working with the talented team at 888 and navigating the exciting future ahead.

Alongside Widerström, Sean Wilkins has been named the new CFO of 888, starting from February 1, 2024. This comes after the departure of Yariv Dafna, who remained with the company until October 2, with Vaughan Lewis serving as the interim CFO until Wilkins’ arrival.

Last month, 888 warned of a 10% decrease in group revenue for the third quarter, citing factors such as compliance changes, slower recovery in customer activity, and customer friendly sports results. However, the company expects to return to revenue growth in the UK market in 2024 due to an ongoing increase in customer numbers.

Earlier this year, FS Gaming attempted to take over 888 but faced regulatory concerns over past conduct. The 888 board decided to terminate discussions to protect the company’s licenses.
