The Allwyn Group has been awarded the fourth UK National Lottery licence, replacing Camelot UK. The 10-year licence will commence on February 1, 2024, officially ending Camelot’s 28-year tenure.

Chvátal, the CEO of Allwyn Group, will oversee the preparations for the transition. He has also served as the executive chairman of Allwyn’s Sazka Czech Republic brand and was previously the CEO of Sazka.

“My appointment demonstrates Allwyn Group’s strong commitment to the success of the UK National Lottery,” Chvátal stated. “We will utilize the full capabilities of our group to ensure a smooth transition and deliver a better and safer lottery experience.”

David Craven, the previous CEO of Allwyn UK, has left the company in order to facilitate a leadership change that is better connected with Camelot UK Limited, the outgoing licensee.

Allwyn recently acquired the Camelot Lottery Solutions unit and confirmed that there will be no changes to the leadership team. The acquisition will provide Camelot Lottery Solutions access to Allwyn’s resources to better support its clients.
