Vella will replace Roderick Attard as the CFO of Acroud. Attard resigned in December of last year after just over 12 months in the role. Vella initially joined Acroud as the financial controller in August 2019 and was later promoted to the head of finance in April of last year. Before joining Acroud, Vella worked as a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers Malta for seven years. She holds an honours degree in accounting from the University of Malta.
“I am very happy that Tricia has accepted our offer to become our permanent CFO, after having performed outstandingly over the last few months in the role of interim CFO,” said Robert Andersson, the CEO of Acroud.
The appointment comes after Acroud’s recent announcement that its purchase of a media and affiliate business contributed to a 53.9% increase in revenue in the fourth quarter. However, the bottom line was impacted by an impairment charge related to old assets from a previous acquisition. Acroud completed the acquisition of the unnamed business in October last year, which is now referred to as Acroud Media.
In the fourth quarter, Acroud’s group revenue reached €10.0m, compared to €6.5m in the same period in 2021. The full-year revenue increased by 24.6% to €30.9m, with a significant portion of this growth occurring in Q4 following the acquisition.
