iGaming affiliate marketing specialist Atemi has achieved a record $13.3m (£10.3m/€11.2m) in revenue in the second quarter, driven by a significant increase in new depositing customers (NDCs). Revenue in Q2 2020 was 42% higher than the same period last year and 14% higher than Q1 2020, which reached $11.7m. Atemi also saw a 72% year-on-year increase in NDCs, reaching a new record of 42,500.
Despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Atemi experienced growth as operators shifted their marketing budgets from sports betting to casino due to the postponement and cancellation of sports events. In Q3, Atemi plans to maintain and grow these budgets, even with the return of the Premier League. The company believes that “casino” has proven to be a better investment opportunity than sports in the past six months.
Atemi founder Richard Skelhorn expects sports to return to pre-pandemic levels in the next 12 months, depending on the absence of a second wave of the virus. Atemi remains committed to supporting its partners and brands and plans to spend over $50m on marketing its gaming comparison sites in the next year. This includes a $19m marketing campaign for its Betcompare brand. Atemi aims to strategically deploy its capital to support growth and adapt to any challenges that may arise.
