Allwyn has assumed control of the National Lottery as the fourth license takes effect on 1 February. With the aim of responsible growth and minimizing environmental impact, Scientific Games has been collaborating with Allwyn in the transition process. As part of their strategic initiatives, Scientific Games has opened a new scratchcard logistics facility in the UK to serve National Lottery retailers. The facility in Warrington utilizes Scientific Games’ SciTrak system for ordering and sorting scratchcards. This is just the beginning of their partnership as more deliverables are planned for the future. Furthermore, Scientific Games will convert the National Lottery’s technology to their ‘Symhony’ enterprise gaming system, covering over 40,000 retail terminals. They will also provide a new digital platform and a range of instant win games developed by SG Studios and partner studios worldwide. The focus of these efforts is to promote responsible growth and increase returns to National Lottery-funded projects.

Michael Conforti, President of International and Strategic Accounts at Scientific Games, commended Allwyn for their vision in growing the National Lottery and generating higher returns for funded projects. Allwyn CEO Andria Vidler expressed their ambition to offer more games, attract more players, generate entertainment, create more winners, and raise more funds for National Lottery projects. Allwyn plans to achieve this through substantial investments in technology and operations to ensure the future sustainability of the National Lottery.

Additionally, the Gambling Commission announced details of the fourth license, including the implementation of an Incentive Mechanism. This mechanism ensures that all National Lottery products contribute the same level of returns to good causes. Allwyn’s profits will only increase if the returns to good causes also rise, emphasizing their commitment to maximizing benefits for funding projects. Andrew Rhodes, Executive Director of the Gambling Commission, believes that Allwyn assuming control of the National Lottery will be advantageous in terms of allocating more funding to good causes while maintaining a safe playing environment.
