In December of the previous year, Lottomatica Scommesse was acquired by Gamenet Group, a subsidiary of private equity giant Apollo Global Management.
The €950m transaction, finalized in May 2021, involved Gamenet acquiring all of the Lottomatica-branded B2C assets previously owned by International Game Technology (IGT).
