Saudi Arabia initiates consultation for legal compliance with information sharing policy rules

The policy rules for online gaming in the Netherlands have been published in anticipation of the market going live in October. These rules aim to provide clarity to prospective licence holders and ensure legal compliance.

Under the policy rules, licence holders are required to promptly report any relevant changes in behavior or events to the KSA board of directors. Any queries regarding the policy rules should be submitted by 13 August via the KSA website, although individual responses will not receive substantive replies from the regulator.

Relevant changes that need to be reported include any alterations to primary licence holders, legal issues such as criminal convictions, settlements or tax fines, and modifications to the payment method between players and operators. Additionally, changes from the national self-exclusion system Centraal Register Uitsluiting Kansspelen (CRUKS) should be disclosed to the regulator.

Potential licence holders had until 15 April to submit their applications for consideration before the October launch. The KSA received a total of 28 applications, although it initially expected to grant up to 35 licences.
