Malta Gaming Authority revokes Field of Fortune’s license due to failure to pay fees

The MGA has cancelled the licence of Field of Fortune for non-compliance with regulations related to making payments to the regulator. The cancellation is effective from 28 June this year.

Field of Fortune breached regulation nine of Malta’s Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations, which requires licensees to make timely payments to the MGA. This regulation encompasses the failure to make licence payments and ensures all fees are paid promptly.

Field of Fortune is now required to settle all outstanding fees owed to the regulator immediately.

BIB Limited, the operator of the Bet It Best brand, had its licence cancelled by the MGA as well. The MGA issued the initial notice of cancellation on 22 December 2021, giving BIB a 20-day period to rectify the breaches outlined.

BIB made submissions to the MGA, which were initially deemed sufficient for an extended period to address the breaches. However, BIB failed to make the necessary changes within the given time frame.

Consequently, BIB has been directed to suspend all gaming operations, submit all outstanding reporting requirements, settle any outstanding dues, and remove any reference to the MGA or gaming authorisation in its marketing or other communications.
