1 Min Read

The cancellation of BetDino’s gaming licence by the regulator, the MGA, has come into effect on 18 January.

Reason for cancellation: The cancellation of the gaming license was due to a breach of Regulation 9(1) (c) and (l) of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations as outlined by the MGA.

Consequences of cancellation:

  1. BetDino is prohibited from conducting any gaming operations under the MGA licence.
  2. Removal of all references to the Authority and its previous license is mandatory.

Non-compliance with legal regulations: BetDino’s failure to make timely payments to the regulatory body resulted in the revocation of its license.

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has recently requested licensees to partake in a survey regarding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters. As part of its regulatory efforts, the MGA is contemplating the establishment of a voluntary code of conduct specifically focused on ESG considerations.

The cancellation of BetDino’s licence by the MGA emphasizes the significance of legal compliance and regulatory adherence in the gaming industry.
