The regulator found that Lošimų Strateginė Grupė UAB, trading as Betsafe, violated the Gambling Law of the Republic of Lithuania by offering Ezugi’s Sic Bo game on its site without the required certification.
The Supervision Service also determined that Betsafe’s offering of the Sic Bo dice game was not in compliance with the country’s gambling regulations.
Betsafe was further found to be in breach of regulations by paying out gambling winnings achieved in the game.
After evaluating the circumstances, the regulator recognized these violations as “minor” and found no aggravating circumstances.
The Supervision Service acknowledged mitigating factors, such as Betsafe’s cooperation during the inspection and lack of previous similar breaches, immediate cessation upon notification, absence of income from the breaches, and no harm to players.
Considering the insignificance of the violations and the absence of major damage, the regulator decided not to impose sanctions in this case.
Betsafe has the option to appeal the decision if desired.
In recent enforcement actions, the Supervision Service has fined other betting operators for violating gambling laws in Lithuania. Baltic Bet was fined €16,705 last month, while Top Sport received three consecutive fines within a week for various violations related to payments, mobile betting, and under-age gambling.
