September sees a further decline in Chinese Lottery sales in the finance sector

In September, the finance sector witnessed a decline of 4.2% compared to August and a drop of 12.8% compared to September 2020.

The total revenue amounted to ¥31.23bn, with ¥12.77bn generated from digital lottery sales, ¥11.65bn from betting and prediction games, ¥4.44bn from instant win games, and ¥2.36bn from keno games.

The Welfare Lottery reported revenue of ¥11.84bn, reflecting a 3.4% increase from the previous month but a 15.0% decrease year-on-year. Digital lottery sales contributed ¥7.44bn, while instant win sales generated ¥2.23bn and keno games accounted for the remaining ¥2.36bn.

Sports Lottery revenue reached ¥19.39bn, experiencing an 8.43% monthly decrease. Digital sales made up ¥5.52bn, instant games brought in ¥2.21bn, and the majority of the total revenue, ¥11.65bn, came from betting and prediction games.

The Guangdong province recorded the highest sales for both Welfare Lottery (¥1.24bn) and Sports Lottery (¥1.88bn). Zhejiang ranked second for the Welfare Lottery with sales of ¥1.01bn, while Jiangsu generated the second most revenue for the Sports Lottery at ¥1.47bn.
