Bet365 Owner Retains Top-20 Position on Times Rich List in Finance Industry

The latest edition of the Sunday Times Rich List ranked Denise, John, and Peter Coates and family in 16th position with a total net worth of £8.80bn (£10.13bn/$10.97bn). They maintained the same position as in the 2022 list, having accrued an additional £158m in wealth since then. The Coates family’s ranking is between XTX Markets CEO Alex Gerko in 15th place with £9.13bn and Bestseller and Asos CEO Anders Holch Povlsen in 16th place with £8.50bn.

Denise Coates founded Bet365 in 2001, utilizing a £15.0m loan against her family’s betting shop estate to establish the successful online gambling brand.

The top spot on the Rich List was claimed by India-born businessman Gopi Hinduja, whose Hinduja Group owns various companies, including Gulf Oil International and IndusInd Bank, with a fortune of £35.0bn. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the CEO of Ineos chemicals group, ranked second with £29.69bn, and Sir Leonard Blavatnik, with a fortune primarily acquired through investments, media, and music, secured third place with £28.63bn.
