Total revenue for the nine months through to the end of September amounted to SEK3.9bn (£305.9m/€352.6m/$346.9m), a decrease of less than 1% compared to the same period last year. The financial situation of ATG has been impacted by various factors, including the war in Ukraine, global economic issues such as high inflation, and the potential for a recession. It is difficult to determine the exact extent of these impacts on ATG’s business, but it is expected that customers will have less disposable income for entertainment and gaming. Horse racing betting remains the primary source of income for ATG, generating SEK3.02bn in revenue, a 6% decrease from last year. Sports betting revenue increased by 6% to SEK479m, making ATG the leading sports wagering operator in Sweden. Casino revenue witnessed a significant boost of 52% year-on-year, reaching SEK384m, following the relaxation of pandemic-related restrictions. However, group costs, including tax, rose by 5% to SEK3.2bn due to increased revenue from sports betting and casino. Consequently, operating profit declined by 13% to SEK1.2bn. ATG CEO Hasse Lord Skarplöth criticized the widespread use of bonuses by gambling operators, stating that such promotions contribute to gambling addiction.
