The official figures indicate that the regulator received UAH79.7m from the state budget, accounting for 9.3% of its revenue in a 10-month period. Throughout 2021, the regulator’s revenue reached UAH1.58bn, with UAH125.5m (7.9%) allocated to regulatory expenses. In the 22-month period from January 2021 to October 2022, total license fee receipts in Ukraine amounted to UAH2.44bn, exceeding expenses by 91.6%.
Given the challenging year for Ukraine due to the ongoing conflict with Russia, the gambling industry came together to support the affected individuals. The Gaming Industry for Ukraine campaign aimed to raise £250,000 for the war-displaced, with proceeds donated to Choose Love’s Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser. To date, the campaign has raised over £261,000. Parimatch Tech allocated more than €500,000 to support the people of Ukraine and partnered with British charity organization WeHelpUkrainians to launch the Ukraine Hospitals Appeal, aiming to raise $1m for conflict-impacted individuals. Parimatch Tech also withdrew its Betring LLC franchise from Russia and ended its affiliation with Russian esports team Team Spirit as a response to the war. Additionally, the corporate foundation of French operator Française des Jeux donated €200,000 to “Libraries without Borders” and “Together for Human Development,” two organizations supporting Ukrainian refugees in France. Online gambling content provider Pragmatic Play donated £100,000 to the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
