Italy’s igaming revenue experienced a subtle decline in December, with a 2% decrease compared to the previous month. However, there was a 1.2% increase year-on-year, indicating stability in the industry.
Both retail sports betting and online sports saw a decline, but the remaining products showed improvement from the previous month.
The standout sector was casino & slots, which witnessed an impressive 17% increase in revenue, reaching €206.1m in December compared to €176.1m in November.
Market share-wise, casino & slots dominated with the largest increase, while online sports betting lost almost a third of its market share from November.
Lottomatica/Goldbet maintained its position as the leader in the online casino industry with a 12.4% market share, while other online casinos saw no significant changes in their market share.
Online sports betting experienced a decline in market share, leaving it with a 27.4% market share in the igaming industry.
In terms of Italy’s online and retail sports betting, Lottomatica/Goldbet continued to lead the industry with a 22.1% market share.
Bet365 has overcome challenges and peaked this month with a 13.1% market share.
On the other hand, Betaland dropped to the bottom with a mere 0.9% market share, pushing Multigioco up to the ninth position with a 1% market share.
Despite ups and downs, the Italian igaming industry continues to thrive and shows potential for significant growth in the coming years.
PokerStars remains the leader in the online poker tournaments market with a 42.87% market share, despite a 4.7% decrease.
Lottomatica had the greatest increase in market share in the poker tournament industry, placing it just behind Snai with a 9.14% market share.
