Under the agreement, Playtech will have exclusive rights to distribute Golden Matrix’s new suite of P2P esports betting games. Additionally, Playtech can utilize its AI player acquisition and retention system through Playtech’s global network. Golden Matrix will also have non-exclusive rights to distribute Playtech’s popular games, including live dealer games, slots, table games, bingo, and poker, through its operator network.
“This collaboration agreement with Playtech signifies a significant milestone in our company’s expansion and success,” said Golden Matrix CEO Brian Goodman. “With Playtech as our Peer2P distribution partner, GMGI’s exciting content will reach new gaming audiences and extend our reach into new territories, including the fast-growing US market.”
Playtech CEO Mor Weizer added, “Our success at Playtech is driven by strategic partnerships with industry-leading specialists that complement our technology, broaden our offering, and enhance our distribution capabilities. We are pleased to announce our partnership with experienced technology provider GMGI, marking the first step in our collaboration to launch esports, P2P, and other innovative software, while also expanding the distribution of our world-class content.”
In March, Golden Matrix licensed its GM-X platform to 24 new clients and anticipated significant growth as operators shifted online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, Playtech experienced a 22.5% decline in revenue for the first half of 2020, with disruptions caused by the pandemic affecting various sectors of its business. Revenue for the six months ending June 30 dropped to €564.0m (£513.0m/$664.6m). While the financial division TradeTech showed strong performance, it was insufficient to offset a 13.5% decrease in B2B revenue and a 41.0% decrease in B2C’s contribution.
