247 Leagues will now integrate ESIC’s integrity codes and standards into its tournament operations. This integration will help promote fair play and sporting integrity across all tournaments hosted on the platform. Established in 2020, 247 Leagues organizes daily competitions in various esports disciplines. The organization has a strong focus on maintaining credibility and trust within its operations.
To ensure the highest levels of integrity control, all players participating in 247 Leagues’ tournaments gather at a single venue. Event supervisors oversee all tournaments to ensure fair play. ESIC Commissioner, Ian Smith, expressed excitement about 247 Leagues joining as a member and highlighted the importance of collaboration with tournament operators to enhance competitive integrity in esports.
Robert Verschoyle, the founder of SportsModule, emphasized the value of partnering with ESIC to establish a trustworthy and transparent brand. 247 Leagues aims to meet the high integrity requirements of its customers. The organization sees its membership with ESIC as crucial in supporting the development of a more regulated esports market.
Recently, ESIC also secured a data partnership with esports data supplier Esports Charts to gain a better understanding of industry trends and behaviors. In terms of disciplinary action, 35 professional esports players were recently sanctioned by ESIC for betting offenses, resulting in bans from professional tournaments for periods ranging from 12 to 60 months. Last year, ESIC also banned 37 professional Counter Strike: Global Offensive coaches for exploiting an in-game bug to cheat.
