Vi Ron, known by the alias ‘NAMIERURO_YT’, has been banned from competitive esports for previous offenses. However, he was recently found to have violated this ban by participating in an event under the name ‘Hiroshi’, after ESL Asia alerted the authorities. This breach of conduct falls under Article 2.4.5 of the Code of Conduct, which states that any actions that bring esports, its reputation, an event, ESIC, or a member into disrepute are considered offenses.
As a result, ESIC has issued Lim Vi Ron with a one-year ban, in addition to his existing sanction. The ban will be in effect until 1st March 2023. In addition, ESL, an ESIC member and the operator of the ESL Mobile Open Brawl Stars Season 1, has taken further measures by disqualifying Lim Vi Ron and his team from the competition.
“Bans serve to safeguard the integrity of esports, and any individual who undermines this purpose acts in bad faith and harms the industry. ESIC treats breaches of sanction conditions seriously,” stated ESIC commissioner Ian Smith.
In a separate case, ESIC has also handed out 12-month bans to three players of ESL Legends of Runeterra (LoR), namely Le Hiep, DiaComSuon, and Cuticini, for cheating in a tournament. These players will be unable to participate in professional esports events or competitions until 16th June next year. Their actions were discovered during the ESL Mobile Open Legends of Runeterra (Ladder 2) tournament held on 16th June this year.
