The ESIC has responded to claims made against it, saying that it did not support Nevada’s Senate Bill 165, which aimed to establish the Nevada Esports Commission. The ESIC categorically denied being a “servant of the betting industry” and clarified its position against the bill to the SB 165 Judiciary Committee.
Similar allegations were also made against the ESIC with regards to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and banned players. The ESIC emphasized its neutrality towards betting on esports, stating that its primary goal is to protect players from match-fixing scandals. The ESIC dismissed the idea that it works for the betting industry and suggested that those perpetuating such claims may have ulterior motives or a lack of understanding about the relationship between esports and betting.
