Allied Esports has joined the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), demonstrating its commitment to upholding fairness and integrity in esports. As a subsidiary of the Allied Esports Entertainment Group, which also operates the World Poker Tour, Allied Esports will ensure that its tournaments comply with ESIC’s ethics, anti-corruption, player, and anti-doping codes.
The Vie.gg Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) Legend Series, which started on August 31, will be the first event to be subject to these new conditions. These codes aim to combat match fixing and prevent individuals with “inside information” from betting on esports. They also establish a framework for reporting such offenses.
Jud Hannigan, CEO of Allied Esports, expressed pride in joining ESIC and emphasized the company’s dedication to fair play. Allied Esports’ players, sponsors, and partners can rely on the organization’s commitment to complying with ESIC’s best practices. Ian Smith, ESIC Commissioner, welcomed Allied Esports and highlighted the ideal timing of their membership with the start of the Vie.gg Legend Series event.
ESIC will work closely with Allied Esports to ensure the safety and proper regulation of their tournaments, both during the Legend Series and in the future.
