Unibet Tribal Launch in Washington: Kindred’s Expansion into the US Casino Games Market

1 Min Read

Under the new agreement, Kindred and Swinomish have struck a deal for a co-branded Unibet and Swinomish retail sportsbook at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge. This partnership is set to span six years with the option to extend for an additional five years. However, it is important to note that online betting is currently not legal in Washington, except for mobile-on-property betting at land-based casinos.

Subject to necessary licensure and regulatory approvals, this launch will mark Unibet’s expansion into its seventh US state for sports betting. Manuel Stan, Kindred senior vice-president for North America, expressed excitement about this collaboration, stating that the sportsbook lounge at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge will enhance the overall sports betting experience offered by Kindred.

Additionally, Kindred remains committed to investing in the expansion of its US operations, focusing on areas where market conditions support a sustainable business model. It is crucial to acknowledge that the US market has posed challenges for some non-leading brands, as seen with FuboTV opting to close down its sportsbook operation.

Currently, Unibet is actively operating in Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia in the US, as well as in Ontario, Canada.
